Anyhow, besides studying for the GRE and hanging out with friends and fam, I've been organizing my life and working in a new position with the Health and Human Services agency in my area. I'm doing in-home support for the disabled now. Previous to this, I worked at a luxury drug rehab facility for a couple of years. I went inactive at the drug rehab one month before graduation; luxury drug rehab wasn't my cup of tea. A lot of unethical business was going on and I in good conscience couldn't continue working there. I learned in school that oftentimes in the world of social work and mental health, the policies of the agency does not always correspond to the ethics we are held to in our profession. Many times, agencies employ unethical policies which actually do not help those they are supposed to be helping, and do cause them harm.
So now that things have mellowed out a bit and there's a constant, yet reliable pace to my life again, I can begin picking up my law studies again. By next year, I will have a year and a half in if I count the time before the break. I've decided to hold out on the volunteering activities for now.
